About

House of Warmth is a heavy shoegaze project from Portland. The band's debut EP, Gabapentin_1, arrived in early 2026 through Candlepin Records and Flesh & Bone Records, earning praise from New Noise, Idioteq, and Destroy // Exist. House of Warmth has built momentum through two DIY tours across the western U.S., sharing stages with Cherry Pick, ASkySoBlack, and Chalk. Regular performances throughout Portland's DIY circuit, alongside the addition of drummer/vocalist Alex Ramirez and guitarist/drummer Jay Davis, expanded the project's scope and introduced heavier influences drawn from metalcore and nĂ¼ metal.

Formed as a solo 4-track based project, House of Warmth has evolved into a six-piece band mixing atmospherics with hardcore influences. Performing regularly in the Portland DIY scene, as well as the addition of new members, has allowed for increasing diversity in songwriting. Collaborative efforts from drummer / vocalist Alex Ramirez, guitarist / drummer Jay Davis, and original songwriter Kayla Gold are bringing new influences like metalcore and skramz into the mix. Expect to hear this new breadth of sound in future releases from the band.

Gabapentin_2 was recorded at COR Studios in Bend, Oregon during a single eight-hour session, then expanded in informal home setups: vocals tracked with friends; guitars re-amplified through a worn Tascam 424mk.II. Mixing engineer Kel Pinchin (Split Chain, Modern Error) and mastering engineer Corey Coffman (Trauma Ray, Downward) shaped the final sound, preserving the raw DIY edge while sharpening its impact.
